Sheet metal punching & integrated metalworking services

Our Punching Department is a continuously evolving division dedicated to sheet metal punching and the development of integrated engineering solutions for metal fabrication.

The punching cell enables the development of technical solutions that, in some cases, make it possible to eliminate the need for small welded nuts through:

  • Threaded thickening (extruded/tapped collars)
  • Drilling
  • Slotting
  • Secondary operations on thin gauges

These processes improve both the technical performance and the aesthetic quality of the component, while avoiding additional operations that could compromise flatness and the final quality of the product.

The machines present in the department are:

  • N 1 2700 kW Combined machine
with automatic feeder for the unloading and loading of pieces.
Laser cutting, punching, countersinking, threading and small folds.
It is possible to use special punches for mass-produced products even with customised templates.

Solutions for series production and customization

The Punching Department is particularly suitable for:

  • Series production
  • Components with integrated holes and threads
  • Custom-shaped parts
  • Processing of thin materials requiring precision and flatness control

The use of special punches makes it possible to develop dedicated solutions for serial production, ensuring repeatability and consistent quality.

Laser cutting and punching

Thanks to the use of combination machines, the department can integrate the following processes within a single production cycle:

  • Laser cutting
  • CNC punching
  • Countersinking
  • Threading
  • Small bends

This integration reduces processing times, improves precision, and optimizes production costs, delivering a complete sheet metal processing service for metal fabrication.

Integration with other production departments

The Punching Department is fully integrated with the other production departments at ITLA Spa, including:

  • Laser Cutting
  • CNC Bending
  • Stamping
  • Robotic and manual welding
  • 3D testing and quality control
  • Assembly and shipping

This integration makes it possible to manage the entire sheet metal processing cycle in a coordinated way, from cutting and punching through to welding, assembly, and delivery of the finished component, ensuring quality, precision, and optimized production lead times.
